முல்லைத்தீவில் முதன்முறையாக மீள்குடியேற்ற நடவடிக்கைகள் ஆரம்பிக்கப்படுகிறது -அரசஅதிபர் எமில்டா சுகுமார்

முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தில் முதன்முறையாக மீள்குடியேற்ற நடவடிக்கைகள் வைபவரீதியாக ஆரம்பிக்கப்படுவதாக அம்மாவட்ட அரசஅதிபர் திருமதி எமில்டா சுகுமார் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். சுமார் 300குடும்பங்களைச் சேர்ந்த 1000பேர் முதற்கட்டமாக முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தின் துணுக்காய் பிரதேசத்திற்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்கள். அனிஞ்சியன்குளம் அரசினர் பாடசாலை, மல்லாவி மத்தியகல்லூரி, பாலிநகர் மகாவித்தியாலயம் ஆகிய பாடசாலைகளில் இவர்கள் தங்க வைக்கப்பட்டு படிப்படியாக அவர்களது வீடுகளில் மீளக்குடியமர்த்தப்படுவார்கள் எனவும் முல்லைத்தீவு அரச அதிபர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். இது தொடர்பில் அவர் மேலும் தெரிவிக்கையில், மீளக்குடியமரும் மக்களுக்கான அடிப்படை வசதிகள் அனைத்தும் அங்கு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. குடிநீர், மின்சார விநியோகம், வீதிப்போக்குவரத்து ஆகியன ஏற்கனவே செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. பாடசாலைகளில் தங்கவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள மக்கள் தமது கிராமங்களிலுள்ள வீடுகளுக்குச் சென்று அவற்றைத் துப்புரவுசெய்து, தேவையானால் தற்காலிகத் தகரக்கொட்டில் அமைத்து படிப்படியாக மீளக்குடியமர்வார்கள். இம்மக்கள் பலரது வீடுகள் சேதமடையாமல் இருக்கின்றன. பல வீடுகள் கூரைகள் மாத்திரம் சேதமடைந்துள்ளன. இவற்றை அவர்கள் படிப்படியாகத் திருத்தி அமைத்துக் குடியேறுவார்கள். இந்தப்பகுதியில் மக்கள் இல்லாத காரணத்தினால் அங்கு பற்றைகள் வளர்ந்துள்ளன. அவற்றைத் துப்பரவு செய்வதில் அவர்கள் முதலில் ஈடுபடுவார்கள். இவர்களுக்கு ஆரம்பத்தில் சமைத்த உணவு வழங்குவதற்கும், வேண்டிய ஏனைய அடிப்படைத் தேவைகளைப் பூர்த்தி செய்வதற்கும் நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இன்று ஆரம்பமாகும் நடவடிக்கையின் மூலம் 4450குடும்பங்கள் மீளக்குடியமர்த்தப்படுவார்கள். இது ஒரு மாதத்திற்குத் தொடர்ந்து மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். மக்கள் படிப்படியாகக் கட்டம்கட்டமாக அந்த மாவட்டத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லப்படுவார்கள். அதேபோன்று, கிளிநொச்சி மாவட்டத்தின் 2500குடும்பங்களைச் சேர்ந்த 10,000பேர் மீளக்குடியமர்த்தப்படவுள்ளார்கள். 30நாள் வேலைத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ் கிளிநொச்சி மாவட்டத்தின் கரைச்சி, பூனகரி, ஜெயபுரம் ஆகிய பிரதேசங்களில் மீள்குடியேற்ற நடவடிக்கைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப் படவுள்ளன என்றும் அவர் மேலும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

The civil war that destroyed the Sri Lanka’s innocent Life, Economy and Property for nearly three decades is now over. There had been no suicide bombings since May 18th 2009. The Sri Lankan Government is working towards an everlasting Peace throughout the Island.
There are nearly 230,000 IDPs at various camps until a suitable environment is prepared for them to be resettled. The brutal LTTE laid landmines almost every inch of the land on their run. As a result the defense forces had to sacrifice almost 20,000 brave soldiers lives to annihilate this brutal mob.
Sri Lanka is not a developed country that has all necessary equipment to clear the landmines. Hence its no easy task to de-mine a huge area to provide a safe environment to these IDPs, once the area is cleared of these explosives, and at least minimum infrastructure has been provided the resettling will take place in great strides. Already nearly 52,000 have been resettled within this short space of time (Five months)!
It is almost a year passed since the Victorian bushfires in Australia, the displaced families are less than 700 in all, except for a very few families majority are not yet resettled. It is nearly four years since Hurricane Katrina, yet the poor America could not resettle her citizens, there are no land mines to clear, then why the delay? Whatever the reasons maybe, strangely both these countries have all the machinery, know-how, technology, expertise and richness.
State of Victoria in Australia one could say as the Industrial hub of Australia. The clearing of land mines is not an issue here. It is due to the correct management of the Victorian Government, whose responsibility is to provide the basic infrastructure, so that the displaced could rebuild their houses once this task is over. Patience is the key word!
When the refugees came to the government side having escaped from the LTTE’s hold, the LTTE’s cadres too came along with them. That itself has presented a huge task of filtering the LTTE from the innocent civilians. It is for this reason Sri Lanka, while clearing the land mines they also have to find the hidden armory so that these could not be left behind for a later day resurrection of LTTE.
Due to the vastness and ruggedness of the thick jungles and the habitable land where these are buried it takes time to finish the job. If this task is not completed, the agents of LTTE that are still operating in the West with their blessing, may encourage the remaining LTTE cadres restart the movement! The latest being the Transnational Government of LTTE Expatriates. They will try not rest till they get their pound of Flesh!
The IDPs in camps are much safer and well looked after than they were under the LTTE leaders regime. They need not fear of their children being abducted anymore to be converted to child soldiers. In fact these child soldiers are now being rehabilitated and given access to a good Education, which they lacked for three decades.
Now it is time for everyone to give a helping hand to Srin Lanka or leave Sri Lanka alone to mind Sri Lankan Citizens to usher an everlasting Peace in the passage of time. And that won’t be far off!
