வடக்கு கிழக்கு தொடர்பில் எவ்விதமான சர்வஜன வாக்கெடுப்பும் நடத்தப்பட மாட்டாது -அரசாங்கம் தெரிவிக்கிறது
ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் மத்தியஸ்தத்தின் கீழ் வடக்கு கிழக்கு பிரச்சினை தொடர்பில் நாட்டில் எந்தவிதமான சர்வஜன வாக்கெடுப்பும் நடத்தப்பட மாட்டாது என அரசாங்கம் அறிவித்துள்ளது. இந்த விடயம் குறித்து ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் செயலாளர் நாயகம் பான் கீ மூனுக்கு இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் அறிவித்துள்ளது. வடக்கு கிழக்கு பிரச்சினை தொடர்பில் இலங்கையில் சர்வஜன வாக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தப்பட வேண்டுமென உலக தமிழர் பேரவை அண்மையில் லண்டனில் நடத்திய மாநாட்டில் கோரிக்கை விடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததாக தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது. எனினும் இந்தக் கோரிக்கைகளை இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் ஒருநாளும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளாது என குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

This is a democratic country and no body has any right to interfere in our policy suitable for our Country including the Great Britain who has given the great independence to Ceylon with out securing the rights of the minority who has worked hard to develop Ceylon those days and raised voice first for the full Independent of Ceylon in 1930’s by Handy Perinbanayagam who was a leading educationist of his time, President of the All-Ceylon Union of Teachers, member of the 1961 National Education Commission, besides being former Principal of Kokuvil Hindu College, Jaffna.
